Beat Clay.
First you need to flush out Team Plasma from the Cold Storage, then fight and beat the gym leader. AQfter that take the route to the northwest.

Before you can proceed pass Driftveil City, you must first defeat Team Plasma in the Cold Storage (South of Driftveil City). After you do this, you can battle Clay. Once you defeat Clay, you can proceed from Driftveil City.

Haven trouble? Well defeat clay. Then go to the PWT (Pokemon world tornement) and your best friend will be there with clay (driftveil city gym leader) after that I will tell you nothing. NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
