First get all the blue ? Boxes you can then go home. When you start to walk press L (don't hold it) until you get to a blue ? Box. If it's a present it will say "looks like your pet has found something." Hold the up button ( don't press it hold it)and press the arrow. You have a 30-40 percent chance that you will get a rare item.

To go on a walk more than once, do the following:

When creating your route for your dog to follow, make sure your dog goes to a park last, right before returning to your home. I advise you to go through as many question mark boxes possible (to get gifts from your dog). When you and your dog reach the park, change your dog's accessory. After it says "Saving...Do Not Turn Off The Power", and saves, turn the game off. When you turn it back on, you will still have your items, and you will be able to go on another walk. Sometimes, your dog's walking/stamina gauge will rise little by little.

Also, it is best to keep your eyes on the top DS screen while walking your dog. If the dog icon stops moving, (unless your dog is using the bathroom, scratching, etc, etc.) be prepared to stop your dog. This indicates that there will either be an unmarked gift or trash. If it is a gift, stop your dog and have he/she pick it up. If it is trash, just pull your dog along.

I think so if you press l while the dog looks for the present then press up b4 it jumps at screen ittle be more rare
