No, I'm afraid you can't. You can, however, unlock Luigi by holding L+are while selecting a profile. You'll hear Lugi say "Luigi" meaning you're using him.

Actually, you can get wario by going to world 8-5 and finding the secret exit right after the checkpoint flag. then go to the world one castle and at the end there will be wario instead of toad. you can play as wario now
