I have tried about 20 times to cheer Ewan up and now I'm getting really frustrated so can someone tell me how to cheer him up fully?

Try giving him some gifts such as flowers, chocolate cake etc and lets hope he will be happy. I did it and it worked. ;)
If your cheering him up if he says: I can`t belive what I just said, I`m not fit to proteact this town then give him any gifts anything but Chinesse cake
I have tried everything. I gave hime every gift possible but chineese cake and he is still deressed. Is it cause I used a cheat a long time back or what?
I gave him a ring that Olivia made. (If you don't know how to get jewels for rings, you have to go dowsing in the mountains for Tracy, the mountain ranger, and get at least 100 points. Buy a jewel, bring it to Olivia, and then you have a ring.) It worked for me!
Play the lei making mini game to get flowers or go to buy cake from charlie. Give him these gifts each day and he will become happier and happier and finally he will become undepressed.
