Question for Metroid Prime: Hunters

I've come to a hurdle. I have all but 1 of the weapons... This includes the magmaul. Even though the game is designed to be nonlinear, it is fairly linear in that a certain chain of events have to transpire before you can continue to a new level. Like gaining a new weapon to access new areas. I have all weapons but one. I have defeated 2 bosses at celestial archives, 2 bosses at alinos, 1 boss on arcterra, and 1 boss at the Vesper Defense Outpost. This would give me a total of 6 Octoliths. However, it is showing I have 62% octoliths (which, if my math is right, is 5 out of 8). Granted, I play this game sparadically, and went through it somewhat differently than the walkthroughs, so I'm not entirely sure that I've defeated 6 bosses (after all, they just rehashing 2 bosses over and over again). But a visit to each planet shows me a boss portal for each boss, thus telling me I've been there and done that. So why do I have only 5 octoliths when I should have 6? Also, when I return to arcterra to use the magmaul on the door in the sic transit, the door is still covered by a force field. According to a few walkthroughs, this force field was to be turned off when I successfully escaped the Arcterra the first time. For me, it is still on, and I can't figure out why or how to fix it. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is really weird. You are probably to be the first when that ever happened to you, or you lied, just to see our comments. You probably used a gameshark or AR, but it doesn't reallly matter. The AR or Gameshark will screw up your gam either way, and that was probably the effect if you used a cheating device.

As far as I know, the only solution would be to start a new file.

Jam Jar answered:

Try exploring sictransit and ice hive untill you find a switch that you scan that deactivates the shield.

I have the same issue. The force field is still up. I have NOT used a gameshark or AR, and I'm not lying. I've searched everywhere for a switch, but I can't find one....anyone else have any insight as to how to get by this?
