I do not think it's anything but minigames and I heard it sucked. Hope this helps.

No, it is not just minigames. Although minigames are the main focus, there are also lots of modes. The party mode consists of the Mario characters running around and completing fun challenges, using items, hexing each other, getting blasted into outer space, and doing lots of neat things. There are four party boards, and an extra one you unlock at the end of the game. There are also six puzzle games you can play as well, but the strongest part is definately the DS Download play. You can every game you normally can in single player, plus two extra minigame challenges. Best of all, there are almost 80 minigames in all. And, at the low price of $30.00, it is quite a good deal. If you are still not sure about it, try Mario Party 8 first.

It is not just minigames. Basically it is a boardgame, and the goal is to get more Stars than the other person. Minigames are just something extra to do, so you can get more coins to buy the stars.

It's kinda like a board game with minigames and there is much more to do XD

There is more to do than just mini-games. Why would Nintendo make a boring game with just MINI-GAMES?!

This game is a really popular game. I also have it. You can't really get over this as you battle bosses, unlock new features, you get MP Points (Mario Party Points). Yeah, it's not really boring, is it?
