Question for Mario Kart DS

Could somebody please explain to me what "snakeing" is, I hear it in regards to Mario Kart all the time, but Im not sure exactly what it is. If some one could explain that would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

(this has been explained many times... But here we go)
Snaking is using mini-turbos back and fourth to get extra speed. IF you go on wifi, you will see snakers all the time. Start trying it with the dry bomber, and when you get good, switch to the egg 1. This is a contraversial tequique, and there are certain bands of people who pledge not to snake, but for most people, snaking is fair game.

Snake-ing increases speed: just power slide left-right left-right... Till you go faster
They say snake-ing is fair game
I'm not convinced but ok, it's a game feature so feel free to use it
But remember that MKDS is a game, to win or to loose doesn't really matter
Having fun should be the main purpose
It's so good fun to race with non-snakers and because of objects, even the worst kart driver has a chance to win!
So my question is: what's cool in Snake-ing? (except winning the race)

Wait, so I have a question after reading this. Is snaking the same thing as a drift turbo boost?
