Question for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4

I am on Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 for iPad/iPod and am in part 2 Year 2 - Borgin and Burkes. I have placed 2 of the 3 objects on the pillars and I entered the last room changed into Hagrid to move the blocks. I can see the last object - a skull - but I can't access it as Harry or as Hagrid. How do I get the last object if I can't reach it?

I also see two of the wizard hats in the game but can't figure out how to reach either of them. Help!

Stupid question, but how did you get to Year 2 in the first place? I'm using the iPad version as well and once I finished my run-through of Year 1, the Year 2 door was still locked. Help?

You go to the bottom of the map where there should be a staircase and you go up it, down the path and jump towards the skull
