You can only "catch" the message in a bottle during the spring- while fishing in the ocean. When Leia gets to her orange heart level, you can give her the bottle and she will leave for the ocean.

Kevin- place an item in your horse's saddlebags
Kamar- ship 1 cabbage
Moor- ship 1 pinapple
Vail- ship 1 green pepper
Fraw- ship 1000 items in the shipping container
Ridge- ship 5000 items in the shipping container
Ali- ship 10,000 items in the shipping container
Cady- ship 30,000 items
Paddy- ship 50,000 items
Forest- Upgrade your scythe to Mystrille and use it
Matthew- find the cursed scythe and have it blessed.
