so i bought harvest moon at gamestop
and i've been playing for awhile and my ds shuts down
(no batteries)
when i get back to it and click Load 1 nothing happens
dose that mean it's broken?

I think I sort of know the answer. Probably you didn't save your game. If you didn't save it, then, you won't have any game to load. the game isn't auto-save.
Was anything moving when you saved? That can trigger a glitch, I've read somewhere. I hope you work out what happened, but it could have been a freak incident and won't happen again. Try it again, but don't do anything great. Just start the game in a save file, save it, and try and load it. If it works, you're probably alright. If not, it's a problem with your card. Don't worry- these things happen. Trade it in at Game or something; they let you get another game instead. You could get another copy or something.
