To stop that train what you have to do is push it as soon as it starts pushing you back and call charlotte to help. Eventually the train will slow down and you can pass it.
Not answering but, which level is this? I'm in the burnt paradise, and I'm going to use the answer to this question for when I get there.

You have to push the train as soon as it hits you the call out charolette
