To be Luigi when you are about to enter your saved data hold L and R at the same time. Luigi is faster and jumps higher then Mario so he is better. Also for World 2 and World 5 beat the bosses while mini (get a blue mushroom) to go to World 4 and World 7 respectively. Hope I helped.
