Once you complete Snowhead Temple (and spring has sprung), you can obtain a Piece of Heart by bringing all the frogs to the Mountain Village. You will need the Don Gero's Mask for this, which you can obtain during winter.
To get the mask (after you put the Elder's son to sleep in the Goron Shrine), light the torches to make the chandelier above spin. Then roll on the red ice in front of the golden ramp and aim for the chandelier's pots. Carry the item found inside to the Goron in the Mountain Village area and throw it up to him.
