In interesting question, this one! Of what I know, you cannot use two power-ups at once. Hope this helps a bit!

If the two caps are in the same level, and you can reach the second cap before the first one times out, then yes. However, I am fairly certain that there is no place in the game where this is possible.

Yes, for anyone still wondering. It is possible. You can combine the Metal Cap with either the Wing Cap, or the Vanish Cap. However, this is only possible with the latter, as there is no course in the game that has both a Metal Cap and a Wing Cap box. If you hack the game however, you can test that both mix work. Mixing the Vanish and the Wing Cap isn't possible however
