The core of the game is more or less the same as last years edition but there are a few more cards to collect and you will notice several cosmetic changes. Features include Quick Game, Season tournaments, Blacktop Challenge, and in-game special Events including Rivals Clash and Road to the Championship. The biggest new feature is a facial scanning tool which enables players to take a photo of themselves and send it to the 'MyCareer' mode on the NBA 2K17 console game on XOne, PS4, and PC. This feature is more or less exactly same as that used in EA's NBA Live series. It is however not supported on earlier devices including the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad Mini 1, iPod Touch 3, iPod Touch 4, iPod Touch 5.
