Captain Marvel is particularly effective at clearing the board of enemies.

Me personally I like to use Spider-Man as his chain strike ability is really effective against the minions. He is also the best character to use for environmental attacks as he has certain abilities that reduces the cost of environmental attacks down to 0 so you don't use any heroism when performing those attacks which is great for when you run out of card plays. When you see an enemy near an object you could throw or shove at them or cause them to blow up if it's an explosive, switch to Spider-Man by pressing L1 or R1. LB or RB if you're on the Xbox and then with the left stick move the cursor over that object and then tap X or A to confirm the action and then use the cursor to select the nearby enemy and press X or A again to carry out the action. If they're near an object you can shove just make sure they're in your direct path for it to work. Hopefully it's a minion or an elite with just a sliver of health left so that it knocks them out instantly. X on the PlayStation. A on the Xbox. With Spider-Man's chain strike ability you could web strike up to two enemies with each KO four if you upgrade the chain strike ability. You could do this by going to the sword in the yard once you have an extra one of those cards in your inventory. Just make sure you have enough resources available to upgrade it. Really any character who could chain multiple attacks together would be just as effective though Spider-Man is the best character for this as he has the added benefit of his environmental attacks costing 0 heroism which makes it really easy to clear out multiple enemies that way especially minions. Minions are the enemies that go down in one hit. Elites have the health bars above their heads so they take multiple hits to take out. It really helps to have some really high damage abilities in your deck. The amount of damage dealt is represented by the number in the top left of the attack card. Attack cards have the crossed swords icon in the top left corner of the card. The higher that number is the more effective it is against the enemies. The heroic cards also have this as well. They're the cards that cost heroism that orange circular meter in the bottom right corner of the screen. Most environmental attacks will cost either one or two heroism. With Spider-Man you don't have to pay any heroism to do an environmental attack so long as you have certain abilities active like opportunist which is a skill represented by a shield icon. Not S.H.I.E.L.D like the organization but like that thing a knight would use to defend themselves with like in mid evil times. That type of shield. These cards give you heroism. With Spider-Man's chain strike ability combined with his environmental attacks costing 0 heroism you could clear out a ton of enemies with him like it's nothing. He is a really effective character to use in those situations. One of the reasons he is my favorite character in this game. That is once you get the hang of his abilities and figure out how his attacks work. His passive ability that you unlock once you level up your friendship with him also reduces the cost of environmental attacks down to 0 heroism so definitely take advantage of that once you have it. By maxing out your friendship levels with each character at the Abbey you could also unlock these special combo cards that do a devastating amount of damage. So definitely use those as often as you can whenever you get them. The webslinger card increases the amount of damage Spider-Man's attacks do so definitely be sure to have that card in your deck as well as that makes his chain strike even more powerful
