Introduction

The next mario kart installment is better than ever!

It includes all the old characters as they battle for 1st place. Nntendo have used many of the DS's functions in this game to reach a whole new level of gameplay. Beware: it is very addictive!!!

Graphics

Classic retro graphics give this game that unique Mario feeling. The details aren't tops but that's the way it's meant to be. The second screen is very useful as it has been turned into a minimap to save valuable screen space. The colours are very bright and really bring out those old heroes.

Sound

The music is great on this game and every track has it's own little rift. The sound is also an important part of the gameplay as you can hear items and enemies way before you see them. The surround dound is very good and personally I think it plays best in headphones. But get yourself a proper pair not stupid in-the-ear things.

Gameplay

The game is quite easy to learn as it starts off really easy and there are lots of tips and tricks you can pick up along the way. Multiple game modes mean that the action isn't just racing. There are missions with bosses and battle modes in cool arenas. If you get bored you can always switch to Wi-Fi and play against anyone. But beware- Some people are damn good. The game is also has Download Play and you get a secret character if you do this. One of the coolest functions is the custom logo. There is a small drawing program which you can use to create a custom logo and it apears in your car. It is very versatile and I spent hours in there getting it just right.

Lastability

This game lasts for ages! There are 32 tracks and 4 difficulty levels which provides you with a hell of a lot of racing. There are also hundreds of Character-Kart combinations try out. Once you've done that there is a mission mode with over 40 missions and many cool bosses. The battle mode is great too with 6 great arenas to play around in. As you go through the game you unlock more characters including ones which hardly ever get seen in other games.

Overall

Overall I would say that this is a really good game and that you should buy it. Especially for Mario fans as there will be lots of old enemies that you will reconise. If you have played earlier Kart games then you will love this, definetely the best Kart game ever!
