You have most probably heard of the epic TV Series 'Lost'. Well this is the videogame version, of this TV series, and definately appeals to the mass amount of Lost fans out there.
Basically, you and your fellow castaways are now stranded on an Island, where is unknown, and it looks like no help is coming. This is result of a dodgy plane crash, destined for Sydney.
One problem, (among the fact you're stranded on an island, of course) you have no recollection of who you are, or your past, so you have to remember who you are, and what you did, for the others to trust you, and for you to get off the island...
Strangely, there are others on the island, who no more about you, than you do yourself....
That is basically it, without giving the main story away.
The graphics are surprisingly immense. The trees, the sea, plane crash site, the hatch, everything looks spot on, even your fellow castaways.
As you move through the jungle, discover new things, everything just looks spot on, and it is really difficult to fault the graphics in this game.
Sound, again is awesome.
All the normal sounds you would hear stranded on an island (of course, we would know) are there. When you're walking across branches, and leaves, you can hear it, cut scenes are awesome, you can hear the waves in the sea, faultless...
...Except one thing, when interacting with other characters, their dialogue seems incredibly blaand, and gets a tad tedius, nothing major, though.
The storyline rocks, as you uncover your tracks about who you really are, and everything about your past, in some pretty smart flashbacks, you're also trying to get home, to (as you learn more, about yourself) right your past wrongs.
Throughout the game, you will come across many mind boggling puzzles, where you use you wit, math and science skills to progress. Don't let this put you off, as it just adds to the challenge, just remember the answer isn't always as difficult as it seems.
This game won't last you a lifetime, and doesn't really have any replay value to speak of, unless you want to replay it, to gain some achievements you may have missed.
It'll take you between 6-10 hours to complete then probably 5, after you know what you're doing.
I'd give this game a 7.5, as it has a great storyline, and some decent puzzles, and is fun to play, but, sure enough playing it once is definately enough, no replay value, downgrades it slightly.
So, in my honest opinion, maybe renting this game would be better off, as it'll just sit on your shelf, waiting to be traded in.
