Introduction

Lost Odyssey - even hearing the name will bring smiles to the face of anyone who has ever played this game and fully experienced it. This game, from Final Fantasy producer Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker, takes you along the journey of Kaim Argonar, an immortal. With 1,000 years to walk the planet, Kaim encounters many perils. Along his way, Kaim makes many friends...
...and enemies.

Graphics

The graphics in Lost Odyssey deserve a 10, and nothing less. If you are playing in HD, you should have no objections to the graphics at all. However, on some older televisions, it is near impossible to read some of the text. These graphics are comparable to some much newer games, such as SOCOM: Confrontation or Assassin's Creed. I must admit, I have never seen better graphics in my life. This is truly a masterpiece.

Sound

The sound deserves a 9 or 9.25. The music in the game is fitting to th environments, and never too distracting, which is good. The sound effects are quite interesting, and go along with the actions of the characters. The distinct difference in dialects and accents as you traverse different regions and nations in the world is also amazing. For example, when visiting Numara, notice the distinct accent of Ming Numara. The sound in this game is well thought out and simply amazes me.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Lost Odyssey is fairly good, but can sometimes get a bit repetitive. The turn-based ideals are excellent, to say the least, but could do with a tad bit of refinement. The open field environments are excellent, and the environments differ substantially. Also, the difference in attracting creatures between running and walking is an excellent feature. Simply put, awesome.

Lastability

This game will last you quite awhile. I would think that it would be safe to say that the average play time for each disc to be 9 hours - 12 hours. For 100 percent completion, I would estimate this game to be about 135 hours! Amazing! I have only played one other game that lasted me longer than Lost Odyssey, and that is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is an insanely long game for 100 percent completion. But back to the point, this game should last you more than enough time. Excellent.

Overall

Simply put, excellent job! I want to thank producer Hironobu Sakaguchi, and all of Mistwalker for that matter, for making such an excellent game for countless amounts of people to enjoy. This game deserves a ten out of ten, simply for being the game it is, not for being the game that you want it to be. It already is.

Final Score: 94%
