Life is Strange 2 is an episodic video game played from a third-person view, it is the second main entry of the Life is Strange series. It is set in the same universe as the first game but three years after the events of its predessor. None of the original characters from the first game return, instead the story focuses on the emotional bond between its pair of brothers, Sean and Daniel Diaz, as they find themselves on the run after a tragedy in suburban Seattle. Play with a Friend
Although Life is Strage 2 is not a multiplayer game you will find that playing with a friend gives you the opportunity to share the experience with someone, allow you to talk over decisions you need to make during the game, and discuss between episodes what could possibly happen next.
Explore Everything
Make sure as you progress through each of the episodes of the game you talk to everyone you meet and carefully explore all the environments fully. During the game you will find postcards, letters, and drawings scattered throughout the world, which will give you plenty of context about its characters. Check out our Souvenir Collectibles Guide to find out the locations of the backpack souvenirs in each of the episodes.
Story Progression
Before you start a scene you will know what action needs to happen to trigger story progression. It is advised that you avoid triggering it until you have thoroughly checked your surroundings for anything you may have missed. Check out our Story Objectives page to find out what the action is that triggers story progression in each of the scenes.
Play Mini-Games
In Life is Strange 2 there are a couple of items that have special prompts which will allow you to take part in mini-games. These activities help to break up gameplay and enable you to interact with your environment, they are also tied to some of the Achivements/Trophies which makes them worthwhile playing.
Pay Attention to Daniel
Make sure you pay attention to Daniel, the younger brother of the two when he takes an interest in his surrounding as sometimes a new prompt will appear that will enable you to inteact with your environment in a certain way.
Read your Journal
Although it is possible to get through each of the episodes without ever going to the main menu you may want to take the time during exploration to check it out as it gives you the ability to customise your backpack and interact with your journal which will hold information you will find beneficial knowing.
Unlock Additional Character Moments
Keep an eye out for the option to sit down in a chair as sitting around long enough will unlock additional character moments where you can talk to your younger brother Daniel about how he is feeling and what is on his mind. Unlocking these additional dialogues will help strengthen the bond between the two brothers.
Replay the Game
Once you have completed an episode you may want to compare your choices and results with other players. Doing this will sometimes reveal options you were not aware of which changed the whole direction of your game. You can keep several save files so there is always the opportunity to play through an episode again.
