How to Unlock Dinosaurs for Sandbox Mode in Jurassic World Evolution 2

There are four different game modes in Jurassic World Evolution 2, one of which is Sandbox mode. Unlike the other modes in the game, when you start Sandbox mode you will have next to nothing, you will not have a ton of cash to play about with or dinosaurs. This How to Unlock Dinosaurs guide will tell you how to unlock the dinosaurs in Sandbox mode.

Sandbox mode does not allow you to conduct any research or go on expeditions, the only dinosaurs that you will be able to add to your Jurassic Park are those that are found in the wild, this basically means those that are on the map or in events. You also won't have many buildings to attract a lot of visitors. To overcome these problems, you need to complete your research while playing the three other modes.

Playing Challenge mode in Jurassic World Evolution 2 is the easiest way in which to unlock most dinosaurs and buildings. Simply select the Canada map and pick the 'Easy' difficulty option, and then use your scientists to research and complete the tasks that you are given. Any dinosaurs and buildings that you've researched and built in Challenge mode will then become unlocked in Sandbox mode. Check out our How to Research Dinosaurs guide to find out what is involved in this process.

To unlock as many dinosaurs and buildings as possible in a single run of Jurassic World Evolution 2 you will require the Science Center, Expedition Center, Response Facility, and Hatchery. You will also need to recruit a few scientists and construct a Staff Center which will enable you to train and rest them. In order to have a continuous source of cash, you need to conduct expeditions and hatch dinosaur clones, which you can then place into the enclosures you build to be viewed by the visitors that come to your Jurassic Park. Once these attractions are up and running, your income will increase. Your goal is to use your managerial skills to obtain a 5-star rating in the challenges you are given so that the game informs you that you have completed the objectives on the Canada map.

There are however a select few dinosaurs that cannot be unlocked through this process. Those dinosaurs can only be found in Campaign and Chaos Theory modes. The Allosaurus for example can only be obtained by completing a mission in Campaign mode and the tiny Compsognathus and hybrids like the Indominus Rex can only be obtained in Chaos Theory mode.
