Question for The Simpsons: Tapped Out

When I go to visit neighbors the Origin symbol in the lower right corner has a number 6 on it. It wasn't always there. What does this mean? It's not the number of neighbors I have.

When I pull up the list of my neighbors at the bottom there's a bar that says "Pending Neighbors." It won't pull up when I click on it so I can see them. Where can I see them?

That 6 is the number of new Friend Requests that you have waiting for you -- open the Origin Menu then tap the News Button then Invites Tab and you will see them there.
