Have you checked your inventory you may have put the tree house in the inventory I had Bart missing before then I realized when you put a house in the inventory the character goes with it.

Bart dissapeared on me too. His treehouse is not in my inventory

I had the same problem. Bart had disappeared. I checked if the tree house was in the inventory, it wasn't. :-( Tried putting the treehouse in the inventory and then taking it out again. Luckily Bart suddenly then appeared. Just as well as he needed to do a 24 hour task.
