If I upgrade a troop in the laboratory and then upgrade the laboratory at the same time will my troops still upgrade?

The troop upgrade will continue in the background, however if the troop upgrades were to finish in less time than the laboratory takes to be upgraded, you would still need to wait for the laboratory itself to finish upgrading to complete your troop upgrades.
