Why would you decline the gift?

Question for Bakery Story

Why would you decline the gift? Is that so you can accept a better gift since you only get 20 a day? Can I wait until I see 20 I want or need? I assume if I don't do anything it won't count as my 20. If I decline, can that same person send me a gift again that same day?

Some people only want food as gifts to help them with sales. Cappuccino is worth more points when selling then chocolate cake, for example, so people will decline chocolate cake in hope of better items. Some people are trying to build a certain oven, so they may turn down anything that is not a needed item for that oven. Once neighbors have sent you 20 items, you are "full" for the day. However, if you choose 15 and refuse 5, you'll be able to receive 5 more that neighbors send. Once you have "accepted" 20, that's it fir the day. Each neighbor can only send you one gift a day, whether you accept it or decline it.
