Gwent: The Witcher Card Game

Cards in Gwent: The Witcher Card Game can either be obtained through opening Kegs (card packs) or by crafting. Getting the cards you want through Kegs leaves a lot up to chance as as each card pack you open will give you 5 random cards, with at least 1 guaranteed to be Rare or higher. Crafting on the other hand will allow you to get the card you desire directly. Check out our How to Craft Cards guide to find out how this is done.

To craft a card in Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will require spending scraps. This currency which is attained at a slower rate than Ore can be acquired a number of ways, these include completing the daily quests, leveling up, milling cards (destroying cards you own), rewards from the Reward Book and as a random reward after each multiplayer game if your opponent gives you a 'Good Game' (GG). Although not the easiest currency to obtain it will allow you to skip leaving things up to chance by making the card you desire for your collection. You can view the Scrap costs of each card in the Deck Builder by right clicking a card and reading the numbers near the bottom.

Being able to get the card you want makes crafting the best way to get new cards. Crafting is slow and even if you did mill every spare card from your starter deck and Kegs you would still not be able to afford all the cards you want. Therefore you should first focus investing your resources on the cheaper cards that you can play in combos rather than the big rare ones, doing this allows you to have some reasonable cards before you finish building your deck. If you do run out of resources before you deck is complete you always have the option to grind in the field so you can begin to amass enough Ore to purchase Kegs, as well as Scraps to craft new cards.
