Having a hard time finding certain animals for your chao? Well I've searched the stages and I found all 21 animals in 6 stages. Most of them are in Chao boxes.

Please note that these are NOT the only stages where the animals are found. They are just the ones I found them in.

1 penguin (metal harbor)

2 whale (metal harbor)

3 racoon (metal harbor)

4 peacock (wild canyon)

5 cheetah (wild canyon)

6 condor (wild canyon)

7 gold bird (metal harbor)

8 gorilla (prison lane)

9 ram (wild canyon)

10 otter (prison lane)

11 dragon (wild canyon)

12 tiger (prison lane)

13 unicorn (prison lane)

14 bear (sky rail)

15 bat (pumpkin hill)

16 skeleton dog (pumpkin hill)

17 boar (pumpkin hill)

18 half fish (pumpkin hill)

19 parrot (green forest)

20 bunny (city escape)

21 skunk (city escape)

Second note: Give one (and only ONE) of each animal to a baby Chao that has reincarnated (turned back into an egg) twice to make a Chaos Chao.
