In order to hit the Sandbag farther, you'll have to find a way to get the Sandbag's percentage up higher - try using Yoshi's Flutter Attack (jump, down+A) about 5 times to get the Sandbag's percentage up to around 100%, then nail him with the Homerun Bat to get the Paper Mario Trophy and Yoshi's Island!

Use eather yoshi, mario, or docter mario. For yoshi do his special kick a down, for mario and dr. Mario use b over for their cape thing over and over and while you are doing that once in a while shoot a fireball or pill at them when the timer is at 1 a over to use the homerun bat and if you did this right you should get over 1300 feet.
