Question for Super Smash Bros. Melee

I know this really isn't about the game, but I just got a gamecube so I don't know and this is the only game I have so:

What is the difference between slot A and B in the system?

Thanks a lot.

mystery man answered:

There is no difference.

Cylun answered:

I believe you are reffering to the memory card slots. There is no difference between them. You insert a memory card into either slot so you may save your game. Also, certain games auto-load slot A. So, if you only have one memory card, you should put it in slot A

rtmccown answered:

There isn't a diffference but if you hold down the A button when you first turn it on you can go the gamecube settings put a memery card in both slots and you can erase something on one of them or you can move one thing to the other or you can copy it that way it will be on both memory cards

StephenUrbz3 answered:

I think you are talking about the memory cards because you can put 1 memory card in slot A or slot B.

Joezae answered:

Its only if you have memory cards.

Slot A is the primary slot or in other words if you have a memory card and you put it in the slot A then thats the memory card your going to be saving or loading games from.

Slot B is the optional slot, if you have another memory card then you could put it in there but it wont do anything it's just for holding the other or second memory card.

It could be used with the other or first one to in other words slot B is a memory card holder well at leat thats what I refer it to.

unseydude answered:

Nothing really. Just the slots for different memory cards.

nintendo_dude answered:

They are both memory card slots, but one is called Slot A and the other Slot B.

Pikapal642 answered:

There really is no difference, other than the GamCube automatically loads from the card in Slot A, so I would keep the memory withe the most frequently played saves in Slot A.

joslifer1 answered:

The Cube'll read the memory from the memory card in slot A, unless it specifically says it'll load from B or you can choose A or B.

darkboarder_77 answered:

There's no difference. Those are tagging letters to give a name to each slot so that you don't confuse them with the what the system is telling you or with what somebody else tells you in reference to which Memory Card you are saving or using.

chex mix7001 answered:

The difference is...mostly you have to use the a slot
