Click on something in your room, and if Pikachu notices it, quickly turn off the TV and do what you want. An alternative is to look at your Nice Cards or Pokemon mini, and the TV will be off and Pikachu looking at you. Pikachu will also get bored after a while of watching the same show over and over again.

Just zoom in to the TV and Pikachu will not touch any buttons, f that is your problem.
