What's this golden ball and leader pikmin I keep hearing about? What does the leader pikmin do?

Dont know, I know theres the god of all pikmin in the first one, the 2nd one I havent played much, but in the first one it gives you a golden ball and it gives you 100 pikmin or something like that
1) The Golden Ball is a rumour and a lie - it's not true and it doesn't exist.
2) Leader Pikmin are Black Pikmin and were just a suggestion that we made for Pikmin 3 in the Forums - if the game came out and had new Breeds of Pikmin.
The golden ball is in pikmin1 and you defeat the smokey progg in didtant springs to get it.
P.s. Smokey progg is a one time oppurtunity. It's the zombie frog thing.
In pikmin 1 the distant spring theres a monster called the smoky progg kill him to get the gold ball it gives 100 pikmin
