Problem with game or not?

I have just got the Grapple beam now and I am in torvus bog (light world) I am on the forgotten bridge and have stood on the center platform of the bridge and triewd to jump over to the ledge above so I can reach the portal, but I can't reach it, it is too high for me even with space boots, is there a problem with the game? Can you lower the ledge?

Also how do I destroy terrain e.g. Rocks that have Denzium in them?

You need to go back to the room before reaching portal where you get the boost ball. Use the boost ball to boost your way up and follow it around to you come to a door, keep going you should find a spiner. Use the boost ball and a gate will open.
