I've been playing this game for a while and it's getting pretty boring what can I do to make things more interesting?

You could try connecting to the Game Boy Advance game, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. Lots of new things happen in both games. For example, Van will have new items.
To do that you need a Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance link cable, and a Game Boy Advance with Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. This has to be connected to controller port 2 (it won't work otherwise). Read the instruction booklets of each game for more information.
