Dogs are the most annoying, useless, obnoxious creatures I've ever met (at least in Harvest Moon). Well, actually, if you feed it and hold it every day, then eventually it will chase your cows in and outside on rainy days. But that takes a long time.
To answer your question however, no, your choice doesn't matter.
The fist two are right, but if you comptly ignore it, it will get to the point where he will bite you and your son. This will result in a $6,000 trip to doctor Hardy.But if your friends with the doctor it will be free! (He likes old coins from the dig site.)
