Characters up to Chapter 23 that I know of

Mia(Myrmidon) Talk to her with Ike in chapter 7

Llyana(mage) Talk to her with Ike in chapter 8 - She won't attack you so don't attack her-

Marcia(Pegesus knight) Talk to her in chapter 3 and she'll leave claiming she owes you one and come back in Chapter 9 where you talk to her again and she joins you.

Lethe and Mordecai (Laguz) Chapter 9 they join you in battle as allies make sure they live and they join you after the battle.

Volke (thief) in chapter 10 before your battle begins he asks you to hire him there is an important reason to say yes so hire him at the end of the battle he asks to travel with you allow him to and he is yours

Kieran ( axe knight) chapter 11 free him from his cell and speak to him with oscar

Brom and Nephenee (Brom: knight) (Nephenee: Soldier) In chapter 10 release them and speak to them both with Ike.

Zihark (Myrmidon) In Chapter 11 speak to him with Lethe or Mordecai.

-Side note Do not fight the wyverns that come in because Jill joins you if she lives and the black knight comes out Do not fight him Either he "WILL KILL YOU"-

Jill (Wyvern Knight) In chapter 12 about 4 turns in she comes into the battle let her speak to Ike and she will join you.

Sothe (thief) Before chapter 13 go to info and go to young boy I think it was and read though it and all you have to do is agree to help him and he is yours.- He levels up very slowly because of his ablility Blossom-

Astrid (Bow knight) In chapter 13 Talk to her with Ike and she will join you-she levels up quickly because of her ability but she is very weak at first-

Gatrie ( knight) In chapter 13 talk to him with Astrid and he will join you - yes you do get him back and at the same level he left you-

Makalov (Sword Knight) In chapter 14 be sure to bring Marcia because Makalov is her brother Talk to him with her and you will get him - He will attack marcia and kill her so talk to him before he gets the chance-

Stefan ( sword master) In chapter 15 he's in the upper right side on the map second row from the top and second row from the right step on this spot with Lethe or Mordecai and they will talk and he will join you.

Tormod and Muarim (Tormod:Mage Muarim: Laguz) Finish the Chapter -Chapter 15 if you needed to know-

Devdon (Spearman I think) In chapter 16 he will not attack the children but watch out for people around him Talk to him with Mist, Rolf, Tormod, Sothe, or Soren and he will join you.

Reyson, Januff and Ulki (Laguz) In Chapter 17 don't let them die and they will ask to aid you in chapter 18 accept and they're yours.

Calill(Sage) Before Chapter 20 at this point if you're on easy Soren and maybe llyana should be sages better then her but still the more the merrier read through the convo's I don't quite remember exactly where but she'll offer her assistance.

Tauroneo(I don't know) In chapter 21 talk to him with Ike I missed him thats why I restarted recently I'm on chapter 15 right now.... Haar ( I think he's a wyvern knight) I missed Haar as well when I beat chapter 23 but speak to him with Jill... And he joins you.
