Question for Sonic Advance 2

Can anyone help? I can't beat the egg sauser or w/e the boss at the end of sky cannon something or other with sonic or tails ( I did it with cream oviously ;) ) soo like I can't do it I can elimanate the light thing but thats as far as i can get soo plz help!!

Hey as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles first off destroy the laser. The get half way to the boss what until the hand is at the 9 o'clock position then when it is about to attack quickly back up, then just as the hand is recovering from its attack hit Knuckles or Eggman whoever is in the cockpit, quickly back up again. Repeat until the boss is defeated.
