If you want a team that can blitz the game really easy, pick Cubone as your Leader, and Pikachu as your partner. I beat the game really easy with them.

If you want a team that is pretty stong and is really strong after you beat the game; I would say pick Torchic of Charmander as your leader and Squirtle(if you pick torchic) or Pikachu(If you pick Charmander) as your partner.

My team is personally made up of Charmander and Squirtle. I think they're the best pokemon. Team to start with. Im tryin to work my game up so I can have Charizard and Blastoise and (if possible) Venosaur
