Granted I wasnt able to go to the end of the tower, but I find using Mew for the dungons that make you start out at lvl 1 very helpful. Since Mew can learn any tm move you can use whatever tm you find laying around. And Mew can float over air and water (fire too but youll get a burn)

Alakazam they say... If there's a monster house, you can teleport it, also in purity forest too...

Poliwag is pretty good at it it levels up quick and charizard starts out with heat wave
