Question for Metriod Fusion

I got this game from my friend, and I am at sector 5. I'm not sure if he beat Nightmare and other bosses. I saw the status on samus and she has speed boost. How do I use it?

Run until Samus starts glowing, That's all =)

Note: You need a path where you can run all the way. If you jump, it doesn't work.

Note 2: When at full speed boost, press down on the d-pad and Samus will store the boost energy. Now jump and you can try performing a powerful "Shine spark".
But that's really hard so practise it if you need.
