What is the barrel for when you get to jokes end (where the boss is?).
Also how do you get across to get to the boss? I'm Kinda stuck!

I dont think the barrel is for anything.
If you want to get to the boss then hit the explaination mark block (before you do that mario MUST be at the back.) Then, acting quickly. activate marios fire power at the line of blocks (they are on the floor) quickly otherwise the bridge will disappear and you will have to start all over again.
You have to spin jump off the top of the barrel to the platform.
If you navigate in the barrel as far back as you can go, you'll find a button placed quite high up. Use the barrel in order for Mario to hit the button. You'll get a question block which gives you 5(or maybe 7) hoo beans.
