You already get all the tools you need in the very beginning. Just go inside your house and to the little tool box at the right down corner of your room. But if you want the fishing rod, go to the house next to the beach (Zack's House). Around 11 A.M-4 P.M, you'll trigger the event and get a fishing rod. *NOTE: You HAVE TO have an EMPTY tool slot otherwise the event WON'T happen*
