How do I beat poseidon or how do I get passed him?

You need the trident. You need to get the three pieces (tines) from three different towers, but youll need specific moves first. Which can be obtained by going to izumo and doing the quest there, and going to the islands south of there. Explore the eastern sea and do those quests, then head over to champa. (whare that pirate guy is from) to get through these towers, I know it just palms you off, but, have you checked a walkthrough? It's a pretty big quest, but you absolutely NEED the trident, because it weakens his defences. It also does him damage in battle, like a sort of weapon. You can use it as a kind of second weapon almost. Hes still a pretty tough guy to beat.
You must use the trident on him first, than you can do what you normaly do
NOTE: it is a good idea to use jenna's aura healing move
