I am on the place where you need goku to be level 70 to open the the gate to find babidi's ship.if I level up to even 66 my game gets stuck.what should I do?

That's not supposed to happen, and it's a very strange error. You need to be at least in level 70 with Goku to advance, there's no other way.
If that keeps happening, I can only suggest starting a new save file, but even that might not work. Sorry!
Put on the 1 ton clothes and shoes and go to golf and chi-chi’s House and go to the forest kill some enemies and will be at leve 70 I need no time.
