You fight zapdos at the power plant you, first have through go the this winding maze of wild pkmn (and you will see things the looking like poknmon but 9 of every 10 is either an electrode or voltorb? Once you get past the maze you'll see a bird sitting there you talk to it and it say " gyaooo!" then (it's zapdos) then you fight it I don't know if it can be caught but I tried it can say you over through the pkball and missed zapdos because he's constantly flying around I'm guess but ...the only way to get to the power plant is to surf there

Obtaining the three legendary bird-Pokemon

(List in the order of appearance in the game - though do note, that the player himself chooses whether Zapdos or Articuno is to be caught first.)

Zapdos: Zapdos can be found sitting in the Power Plant, which is located south of Route 9. You can only reach it, once you've learned to use the move "surf" out of battle. It is required to surf on the water located in the top-right corner of Route 9 to reach the Power Plant. From there, enter the Power Plant and follow the maze until you reach the exit, where Zapdos will be waiting - you can't miss it.

Articuno: Articuno is located in the cave on Seafoam Islands, which are located on Route 20. The player will have to enter the dungeon on his way to Cinnabar Island. To obtain Articuno, the player must move boulders using Strength, to stop the water-current on the lowest level to pull you away. When done, the player must move to the left, surfing around a plateau, which gets the player to another little underground plateau, where Articuno will be waiting.

Moltres: Being the last legendary bird-Pokemon, Moltres can be found near the end of the game in the cave on Victory Road. Moltres is located on the second basement level. Besides from lowering tiles, using rocks as weights, there is nothing that stands in your way from reaching Moltres.

Catching the legendary bird-Pokemon:

First off, I will of course suggest the use of Ultra Balls, however, they are not a necessity. All the legendary bird-Pokemon have a catch-rate of 0.3 % if you try to catch them with a normal poke-ball, when on full health.

Of course, the best tactic is to lower their health as much as possible, then sleeping them before throwing the ultra-ball. The ultra-balls may miss at first, but just keep throwing them until they hit, and eventually catch the Pokemon.

REMEMBER TO SAVE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CATCH A LEGENDARY BIRD-Pokemon! YOU ONL GET ONE SHOT - IF YOU FAIL AND DIDN'T SAVE, YOU'LL HAVE TO TURN OFF YOUR GAME TO GET ANOTHER ATTEMPT!
