How do you get rid of a pokemon?? I can't find a release button!

It is possible to erase Pokemon in Pokemon gold I just did it to 2 tauros I was trying to clone lol.... -_- what you do is make sure the Pokemon you want to delete are in a box in the Pokemon center save and quit the game. Restart and then when you load up in the Pokemon center you withdraw the Pokemon then switch boxes and then when it starts to save right when it says saving don't turn off the power, turn it off. Then turn it on and bam. The Pokemon are no where to be found. Its a neat trick just sucks on how I figured it out lol
