Hints and tip for Pokemon Gold

Something very strange happened to me the other day. I did Mystery Gift and then went to the Trainer House. The lady said I would battle BUDDY. Like normal but that wasn't what happened.

It said Pokemon Trainer Tomas wanted to battle. It also had the fainted signs on his pokeballs (the little X's).

When I went into battle my character got a darker red, Thomas sent out ?????, and it looked like a trainer but it was a purple/blue/pale green. The Pokemon, if it is one, had tons of health and was poisoned so I couldn't tell the level. Interested I selected fight and chose flamethrower. The game screen went blank and I couldn't even restart by pressing A+B+select+start. I tried again. Thomas was still there and so was his weird thing.

This time I tried to switch to Golbat, but then it said "Waiting..." like in a link battle if your opponent has not chosen their move. I restarted. This time I tried to use an item, so ????? Would have to attack. However when I selected pack it said "Items can't be used here". Another link battle occurance. Then I selected fight, the waiting box popped up, the game froze with the battle music still playing.

I remembered who I had done Mystery Gift with, and wondered what would happen to him in the Trainer House. It was a normal battle except for this: My Vileplume was level 255, due to a Gameshark error, and he when he beat my first Pokemon he grew to level 48, like before the accident.

I beat Craig and got $2900.

I went back to my other game and game and battled Hiker Anthony. It was a normal battle, and I won. I then went back to face Thomas, selected fight, my screen froze as well as the music. This time I put my pidgeot first and when I selected fight the game auto restarted, all by it's self AND most of the colors were a redish shade (that answers my other question).

Now I put my furret first and selected fight. Again the game auto restarted and all colors were a brownish shade. Now I put my pikachu first then selected fight. The game froze. I put Dratini first this time. When I selected fight the game again auto restarted. All colors were pale yellow, blue, or white. At this time I had to stop because my dad came in and told me that I better get in bed this instant or he'd throw away my gameboy.

I think this happened because of Odd, the glitched Vileplume. I can support this theory. A few days ago I did Mystery Gift with another Gameshark accident, a level 255 voltorb in the first position. The exact same thing happened. When I put that in the last position BUDDY. Didn't have it in his party at the Trainer place. Will someone please test my theory on their game?
