Early Access to Safari Zone without Game Shark

Added:

Hey PokéGamers! Joey from Zoukon101 here and I will be giving you a complete guide on how to get to places where you will normally have to progress later on in the games to access without having to rely on GameShark. This walkthrough works for Yellow, Red, Green and the Generation 3 remakes FireRed and LeafGreen. Now before we begin, I will create a complete list of what you will need for the whole tutorial:

-Flash HM

-Cut HM

-Pokémon that can learn the HMs

-Boulder Badge

-Cascade Badge

-Super Rod

-Silph Scope

-Poké Flute

-SS Ticket

-PokéBalls

If you want, you can also pick up these optional items that may be useful along the way:

-Bicycle

-Bike Voucher

-Lemonade, Soda Pop or Water (Generation 1)

-Tea (Generation 3)

-Nugget

-Dig TM

-Poké Doll

-Super Rod

Walkthrough Part 1: Now onto the whole tutorial. It's going to take a lot of time before you can complete it but it would be worth a wait. So the first thing you must do is progress with the game as you will normally do to the point where you have to receive the Pokédex. For your starter, don't pick Charmander. Go for Squirtle or Bulbasaur because of type coverage. What you may need are Pokémon that can and will help you throughout the walkthrough. You need one that can learn Cut and one that can learn Flash. To get Flash, you must beat Brock first and get the Boulder Badge. What you will also need is to beat Misty because by winning the Cascade Badge, you can learn Cut. Easy? Maybe.

Walkthrough Part 2: After getting the Boulder and Cascade Badges, you will need to pass the Nugget Bridge and get to Bill's House. Do him a favor and he will give you the SS Ticket. Head back to Cerulean City and head to the house where there is a Rocket Grunt in the backyard. Beat him and get Dig. That may be very useful because Lt. Surge has Electric Pokémon and they are all weak to Ground. Good news. So are Koffing and Weezing pre-Generation 3. Head to Vermillion City and get to the SS Anne. Fight all the trainers, including Blue, and speak to the Captain. Get the Cut HM and leave the ship. If you want, you can get the Bike Voucher from the Poké Fan and head back to Pewder City. Take Diglett's Cave straight up until you get to Route 2. Go south and speak with the Professor's Aide. You must have at least 10 Pokémon recorded in your Pokédex, including evolving your party, to get the Flash HM. Make your way back to Cerulean City and redeem the Bike Voucher to get a Bicycle. Head east of Cerulean City until you get to the Rock Tunnel. Unlike in Generation 3, the Pokémon Center won't appear on the map. Be sure to save very often. Make your way through the Rock Tunnel until you get to Lavender Town.

Walkthrough Part 3: This one is where it gets tricky. Once you get to Lavender Town, head west until you get to Celadon City. Go to the Game Corner and fight the Rocket Grunt guarding the poster. Head downstairs and fight the grunts. Team Rocket has mostly Poison Pokémon, Rattata and Zubat. So Dig won't be useful against the latter. But you know what? Geodude is a very good option taking out those pesky Rattatas and Zubats. Why? I'll tell you. Because it is also partial Rock. Defeat all the grunts and head to Giovanni. Be sure to save very often. Defeat Giovanni and get the Silph Scope. If you want, you can buy the Lemonade (Soda Pop and/or even Water) from the vending machines on the Celadon Store. For Generation 3, you need to get the Tea because cold drinks don't work in the remakes. You can also get the Poké Doll from there as well. Give the drink to the guard and continue onward to Lavender Town.

Walkthrough Part 4: Be sure to save very often and get in the Pokémon Tower. Defeat Blue and continue until you beat those Channelers. Get to the part where there is a Ghost. Battle it and Marowak will reveal itself. One option is to defeat it in battle. The other option is to use the Poké Doll against it and it will disappear. Defeat the Rocket Grunts on the last floor and speak with Mr. Fuji. He will give you the Poké Flute and that completes the main portion of the walkthrough. Now there will be a couple of options on how to get to the Safari Zone.

Walkthrough Part 5 (Option A): After you get the Poké Flute, head south until you encounter the sleeping Snorlax. Use the Poké Flute and battle it. Defeating (or capturing) it automatically clears the pathway for you. Fight through the bridge and visit the Fishing Guru if you want. Get the Super Rod just in case if you want Dratini early and continue to fight through the trainers. This part isn't as easy as it sounds like I said before that it would be tricky from here on out. Be sure to save very often and continue to fight the trainers. Make your way to Fuschia City and heal at the Pokémon Center there. Voila! You are in Fuschia City. Now you can get into the Safari Zone with just two badges.

Walkthrough Part 5 (Option B): After getting the Poké Flute, head back to Celadon City. There you will see the sleeping Snorlax. Use the Poké Flute and battle it. After clearing the path, head to the Cycling Road. Now if you want, you can get the Fly HM. Like I mentioned before, this is very tricky. However, it's just a straight shot down the Cycling Road and it's actually simpler and faster than the other route. Be sure to save very often. Fight all the trainers on the Cycling Road and proceed until you get to Fuschia City. Go heal at the Pokémon Center and voila! You are in Fuschia City! Now you got access to the Safari Zone with only two badges.

There you have it. Zoukon101's Complete Guide on getting access to the Safari Zone without having to use GameShark. If you like the tip, feel free to give a shoutout! Also, if you want me to submit more ideas, I will look into them and I will post them! This is Joey from Zoukon101 saying peace PokéGamers!
