Introduction

Flipnote Studio is an easy to use, animation app for the Nintendo DSi. It's completely free, 0 points, on the DSi shop, and is probably the most fun app there is. You draw something out page by page, play it all back at a certain speed, and watch your cartoon animation play. You can also record sound from your microphone, insert audio from the DSi sound app, insert pictures from your DSi camera and much more!

Graphics

The graphics are only as good as you draw them in this app. You draw what you want on the first page, then when you move over to the next page, you can see a shadow of what you drew on the page before. So you can draw it over a little to the left, and again more to the left, and again, and so on and so forth until it's off the screen. Play it all back and there you have it. The only downside is you can only use black, white, blue, and red for coloring your drawings.

A cool feature though, is if you don't wanna draw something, you can take a picture of it with your DSi camera, and import it into Flipnote Studio.

Sound

This game is sort of like a D.I.Y. The sound in the game is only as good as you record it as well. The maximum time you can record up to is a minute. You can also record three short sounds and press them into the animation with the click of a button. But if that's not enough, you can edit your recordings with all the amazing DSi Sound app tools, and import it into Flipnote Studio.

Gameplay

The gameplay in this app is basicly making short animations. You have a wide variety of tools, if you have the advanced tools on. There's a variety of pencils, paint brushes, erasers, and more you can use to make your animation look as great as possible. But what really makes this app great, is that you can share your animations with the world, with nintendo wi-fi connection. If you have an account on http://flipnote.hatena.com/ you can link your account to your Nintendo DSi, and post your creations for others to watch. You can comment, add stars, and favorite other flipnotes. There's always enough animations to watch, so it never ends. There's even a flipnote ranking!

Lastability

This app pretty much never ends. You could go on making animations on it for the rest of your life. Or, connect to Flipnote Hatena via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and watch the millions of other flipnote animations out there. There's always something to do with this app, so it will last you, until you decide to stop.

Overall

Flipnote Studio is probably the best app on the DSi Shop. What makes it even greater, it's free. With each animation you make, the better you get. And with wi-fi, the fun never ends. This app is my favorite right now on the DSi shop, and wil be for a very, very long time. I recomend downloading this application, now.
