Althrough there are plenty of options available for attack, defense, stand-up, and matwork you will find it will take time getting used to the control scheme which requires that you hold multiple shoulder buttons while simultaneously working the analog sticks and face buttons.

Players can also slip and parry punches as well as block strikes. Escaping clinches on the ground is determined by the individual fighters skill with a particular move.
