Introduction

Well I am a Dynasty Warriors Fan, Collector, Gamer, you name it... I own all the games from DW 1 to DW 5 Empires, and DW 2 is what started it all. For most people think DW 1 was the one that made DW series so successful. However DW 2 was the one that brought in the Kessen concept of massive armies and combined it with the hacking and slashing action of DW1.

Graphics

These graphics could use some work, but considering the graphics of other games at the time, it didn't do too bad. Especially for being the first in the series to pit you against the thousands of soldiers in the enemies armies. Overall graphics were ok and the cutscenes and opening looked awesome.

Sound

What more could you ask for here? They delivered a good theme and themesongs for the maps to be played as well as great sound effects for archers, soldiers, character voices, the list goes on. Best part of the sound in this game remains the thousands of battle cries in the distance mixed in with some techno game music.

Gameplay

For being the first of it's kind, DW 2 has an awesome gameplay concept. Each character is unique and though you are limited to only a four hit combo, it seemed to have little effect on people enjoying the gameplay. You start off with certain characters and unlock more through gameplay.

Lastability

If you are a determined person and want to unlock everyone ( Without using cheats ) and upgrade everyone to their max, this game can last forever. However taking breaks from it can be your best bet, because of the games limited levels playing the samething over and over can be draining.

Overall

This game is perfect for the hack and slash lovers out there. It is a must have for all Dynasty Warrior Series collectors everywhere. Being the one game to be a mold for all the others in a series, this game is awesome. I recomend this game to anyone who hasn't yet played a Dynasty Warrior gam and I garauntee you will love them all.
